A sea of clouds is not a grey car park
Blue above a white floor is the picture people drive up for. Fog on the tarmac is a different morning. Both are on the NetMadeira still.

Two grey mornings at Pico do Arieiro are not the same morning. The camera is NetMadeira's still of the lookout.
A sea of clouds: the car park and the wall are clear, the sky above is pale, and a flat white layer sits below the cliffs. That is the drive. A grey-out: the lamps and the tarmac disappear into the same grey. You are inside the cloud, and the ridge walk will be the same grey. Do not wait an hour inside a grey-out hoping it turns into a deck. The deck is usually a dawn picture, and it often climbs and swallows the car park later.
Achada do Teixeira is the other end, also NetMadeira. A clear Arieiro and a grey Achada means the ridge between them is not a view the whole way. The short page is the sunrise check. Whether to drive up today is how to read the camera. The path, if you go, is PR1.
