These are people through the airport. They are not the same as guests who stayed in a hotel.

The fee€4.50 a path. €10.50 for the full PR1 to Pico Ruivo.

Since: Portaria 801/2025, amended by Portaria 48/2026 of 13 February. The 2026 prices are the same.

Who pays: Visitors who are not residents, aged 13 or older, on a classified path run by IFCN.

Who does not pay: Residents. Children aged 12 and under. A disability of 60% or more, and one accompanying guardian.

What it pays for: Repairing the paths and the people who look after them.

The fee€2 a person a night, for up to 7 nights.

Since: 1 October 2024, Regulamento 764/2024. Still €2. A draft to charge €4 from January 2027 went to public consultation on 1 October 2026. It is not in force.

Who pays: Paid nights in tourist lodging in Funchal.

Who does not pay: Children up to 12, and residents of Madeira.

What it pays for: Streets, the promenade, and the old town.
