The north coast gets the cloud first
Faial, Porto da Cruz, and Santana sit on the wet side. Their cameras are the check before that drive.
·

The north coast is where the trade wind meets the island. Faial, Porto da Cruz, and Santana are greener, and they spend more days in cloud and rain than Câmara de Lobos or Calheta. That is the same split as the peaks note, seen from sea level.
Open Faial, Porto da Cruz / Alagoa, or Santana before you commit. If those frames are in rain and Ponta do Sol is bright, the southwest is the better afternoon. If you still want the north for the pools, use the Porto da Cruz note or the Porto Moniz note and accept that the sea may say no.
This is not a forecast model. It is which camera faces the wet side.
