Câmara de Lobos from the harbor camera
The fishing boats and the cliff are the picture. Cabo Girão is the next stop west if the view is open.

Câmara de Lobos is the fishing harbor just west of Funchal, with the small colorful xavelha boats on the slipway and the basalt cliff behind. The camera looks directly across that sheltered basin. Check it before setting off to see if the afternoon light is bright or overcast, and how busy the harbor promenade looks with tour coaches.
Cabo Girão is the next viewpoint west, a few minutes further up the hill. If both frames sit in low mist, the cliff skywalk will also be in cloud. You can compare the high-elevation views in viewpoints worth the drive.
Espetada, traditional beef grilled on a skewer with garlic and bay leaf, is what the town and the hills of Estreito de Câmara de Lobos are best known for. Time your visit when the harbor camera shows clear skies over the bay and boats along the slip.
