Whale-watching boats leave from the marina, not from the camera
The marina picture shows the quay. It does not show whales, and it does not confirm your pier.
·

Boats that look for whales and dolphins leave from Funchal marina. The marina camera shows that quay and the promenade. It will not show an animal, and it will not show your boarding gate. The company that sold the ticket does that. Use the camera to see whether the front is jammed before you go down, especially on a cruise day.
The cruise pier is a different place. Pontinha is the ship. The port camera is the working basin. Which is which is which harbor camera. The marina wall and the promenade are the marina note.
Sea state matters more than a species list. If the north coast cameras are white water, the south coast can still be workable, but that is the skipper's call, not this page.
