Parking at Rabaçal for 25 Fontes
Private cars stay on the ER110. The road down to the forestry house is for the shuttle or your feet.

The walk to 25 Fontes does not start in the valley. Private cars are not allowed down the paved road into Rabaçal. You park on the ER110, on the Paul da Serra plateau, then walk about two kilometers down to the forestry house or take the shuttle run by the Calheta council. Walking down is easy. Walking back up, after the levada, is the part people underestimate.
On a busy morning the paved spaces fill and cars end up along the ER110. That adds a walk on the open road before the descent. Arrive early, or aim for after the coaches have left. Take a jacket. The plateau is colder and windier than Funchal.
The Rabaçal camera shows that plateau. It is a Madeira-Web picture, not a forecast, and it does not say whether the shuttle is running. PR6 itself is in the 25 Fontes note. Book the trail on SIMplifica.
